WHAT IS GLOBAL MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE (GMC)?

The Global Management Challenge (GMC) is the worldโ€™s largest strategy and management simulation competition, founded in 1980 in Portugal by SDG - Simuladores e Modelos de Gestao. GMC holds CEL certification in Technology Programs for Advanced Education issued by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).

GMC is designed to develop practical strategy and management competencies by engaging participants to operate virtual companies, where they make real-time strategic decisions in a simulated competitive market environment. The competition is organized across more than 30 countries and is used as an experiential learning platform for university students and corporate professionals.

In Ghana, GMC is organized by Trimonde. Through this partnership, Trimonde serves as the national implementing body responsible for organizing the Ghana editions of the competition, mobilizing universities, and coordinating participation in alignment with the global GMC framework.ย 

The competition is a strategy and management simulation in which each team operates a virtual company with the objective of achieving the highest investment performance. By managing a company without real-world financial risks and making executive-level strategic decisions, participants gain the opportunity to:

HOW DOES THE COMPETITION WORK?

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Form a team, comprising of 3 to 5 people.
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Register your team (members) by clicking on the Registration Link.
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ The teams are first organised into groups.
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Each group with a maximum of 8 teams.
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Each group creates a competitive market
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ The Teams compete with one another
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Compete in the two decision cycles: Rounds 1 and Rounds 2
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Advance your team to the national finals (eight finalist)
๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Win the national championship to represent Ghana.

Using the teamโ€™s username and password, within the restricted area of the organiserโ€™s website, the teams submit their management decisions and consult/download their Management Report.
All the teams can, at any time, consult its Company History, the Manual, the Competitionโ€™s Calendar and its Teamโ€™s classification/ranking for each Decision Period, on the organiserโ€™s website.

INTERNATIONAL FINALS

Each year, the International Final of the Global Management Challenge is hosted in a different country, where the winning teams of each country compete for the World Title in a milestone and prestigious event, which provides a unique experience of contact between different cultures and the reality of competing at an international level.
